Chapter 1 About Guizhou Communications Polytechnic University
Guizhou Communications Polytechnic University (GCPU) is a technology - focused university specializing in transportation. Founded in 1958, GCPU was named in 2019 as the only 'High - level Higher Vocational School Construction Unit with Chinese Characteristics' in Guizhou Province. GCPU currently operates two campuses, with one located in Qingzhen and the other in Yangguan.
GCPU has 8 teaching departments, which offer a comprehensive range of educational programs. Specifically, it offers vocational and undergraduate majors, with a focus on two national high - level professional programs: road and bridge engineering technology, and automobile operation and maintenance technology.
With a campus area exceeding 867,000 square meters and a total gross floor area of nearly 500,000 square meters, GCPU accommodates over 13,000 students and has graduated over 100,000 skilled professionals, earning it the reputation of the 'Cradle of Transportation Talents in Guizhou.' In terms of comprehensive competitiveness, based on factors such as teaching quality, research achievements, and industry collaboration, it ranks among the top vocational colleges in China. GCPU offers 19 national - level courses and boasts 15 specialized facilities, including industry - education training bases for practical skill development, collaborative innovation centers for fostering industry - academic cooperation, engineering research centers for cutting - edge research, and key laboratories for advanced scientific experiments.
Chapter 2 About Guiyang
Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, is also renowned as the "Forest City." It serves as the political, economic, cultural, educational, scientific, technological, and transportation center of Guizhou Province. Additionally, Guiyang holds a significant position as a transportation hub, industrial base, and a center for business and tourism services in Southwest China. Furthermore, it is a crucial gateway along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
Guiyang has successively won numerous honorary titles, including National Sanitary City, National Ecological Civilization City, China's Summer Resort Capital, China's Best Performing City, National Model City for Ethnic Unity and Progress, and the country's first "National Forest City".
Chapter 3 About Colleges and Majors
GCPU now offers vocational and undergraduate majors, and focuses on two national-level high-level professional groups, namely road and bridge engineering technology, and automobile application and maintenance technology (intelligent transportation in western mountainous areas).
3.1. About the Colleges and Vocational Majors
(1)College of Road & Bridge Engineering
The majors include Road and Bridge Engineering Technology,Road Maintenance and Management,Safety Technology and Management, Underground and Tunnel Engineering Technology.
(2)College of Automotive Engineering
The majors include New Energy Vehicle Technology, Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology
(3)College of Architectural Engineering
The majors include Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Inspection Technology, Municipal Engineering Technology, Intelligent Building Inspection and Repair.
(4)College of Arts & Tourism
The majors include Tourism Management,Air Crew Service,Art Design,Art and Design , Song and Dance Performance.
(5)College of Intelligent Transportation
The majors include Computer Network Technology, Internet of Things Application Technology, Big Data Technology.
(6)College of Logistics Engineering
The majors include Modern Logistics Management,Big Data and Accounting .
(7)College of Rail Transit
The majors include Urban Rail Transit Communication Signal Technology ,Urban Rail Transit Mechanical and Electrical Technology, Urban Rail Transit Operation Management.
(8)College of Intelligent Manufacturing
The majors include Mechatronic Integration Technology,Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation,Electrical Automation Technology,UAV Application Technology, and Marine Engineering Technology.
Chapter 3 Application Requirements
3.1. Basic Requirements
(1)Non-Chinese citizen in good health;
(2)Applicants must have a high school diploma or college degree;
(3)Applicants must respect costumes, regulations and laws in China, and have non-criminal record.
3.2. Language Requirements
(1) Applicants without any HSK test report must enroll in beginner Chinese language courses. Since all courses at GCPU are taught in Chinese, a good command of the language is crucial for successful study.
(2) Applicants who have passed HSK-3 can take vocational courses, while those who have passed HSK-4 can take undergraduate courses. International students who have passed either HSK-3 or HSK-4 have an opportunity to obtain a scholarship.

(14)Postponed international students must submit a study evaluation of the previous year
(15)Copy of HSK Certificate (for international students entering professional studies*)
